Greetings!
First day of wearing shorts! 26 degrees and feeling like summer - Hoorah!!!!!!!!
Also first real day of interacting with other tourists - breakfasted with two lovely boys from Belgium and dined with fellow travellers from Japan, Australia and a couple from London.
Guided tour of temple and royal palace today (remember - 2 rings in the ceiling = rings for the punkawallah's rope, 4 rings in the ceiling = ring's for the indoor swing; also remember - use the lower steps to get on your horse, the higher steps to get on your elephant!). Impressive and informative - great lakeside location and the Mehwar's are the second longest surviving dynasty in the world.....apparently.
Temples are proving interesting - all of them heavily carved with scenes of the gods, acting as lessons for mortal adults and children about how to live a good life. You'll be pleased to know that there are large sections of the Karma Sutra on there - which as the guide said "We want children to understand there's nothing wrong with sex or talking about sex outside the temple - just not to think about it INSIDE the temple."
More sightseeing with boat trip on the water - beautiful palaces, location and weather. First place with which I've been truly impressed.
Keeping in touch with home on a regular basis - sorry to hear the weather isn't getting warmer :(
Tomorrow Jodhpur... and still no Delhi Belly....
xx
