Day 3 - Delhi to Jaipur

Inordinately tired today - mercifully most of it spent on the road (6 hours) getting to Jaipur.

Fact - driving in india is a nightmare - as the driver, Lakshmi said - every driver in India is given a blessing when they pass their driving test - "may you always have a good horn, good luck and good brakes!"

Rule of engagement on the road (there is only one) - fill the gap in front of you. No indicators, no sticking to lanes.... Just go. You get the drift!

Also, Have to be acutely aware of other traffic - including motorbikes -see pic, camels and monkeys (pics to follow) and jeeps with 15 people all hanging off travelling at 60 mph! CRAZY!

Hope all well with you all.

How's the snow and cold? X

  2. Snow and freezing temperatures really messing up the trains. So no dancing tonight- wish I was with you. I just loved our trip to India a couple of years back. The heat, the noise, the smell, the food -bt
